Oscars Party Accessories

And the award for Best Oscars Party goes too...YOUR sweet face.

I’m not a very big movie buff. And by “not a very big” I mean, “not at all.” I never go to movie theaters and when I watch them at home I’m that person who has to keep rewinding because I’m distracted by Instagram and texting and miss what happens. So obviously I haven’t seen one movie nominated for an Oscar this year. I don’t know what name they’re calling someone by, I’m not quite sure where they’re trying to get out of, and I’ve never been to Ebbing, Missouri. Don’t you dare ask me what a Dunkirk is. But does that mean I won’t be sipping champagne and tuning in to see what Nicole Kidman is wearing and watch Jimmy Kimmel embarrass someone in the audience? Absolutely not.

Below are a few things to help you throw an Oscars viewing party that could possibly rival the Vanity Fair party. Possibly.

  • Some sort of sugar or sprinkles and lime wedge for rim (we used these cute little edible gold stars)
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce pomegranate juice
  • 3/4 ounce lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce Grand Marnier
  • Splash of grenadine
  1. Prepare the glass by rubbing the edge with lime wedge. Spread the sugar or sprinkles out on a plate or shallow bowl, then coat the rim of the glass. Shake off any excess.
  2. Pour the pomegranate juice, lime juice, tequila, grand marnier grenadine into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain contents of shaker into glass and serve.

Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets. Invite your friends over and print out these fun 90th Academy Award Ballot cards. My bet is on Meryl Streep for everything. Even things she's not nominated for. She should win it all, always. Download your Oscar ballots here.

Grab little candies or a marker and keep an eye out for that moment when the music awkwardly cuts off a speech or someone makes another political statement. Download your Oscar bingo cards here.
